About the Workshop
The class will be focused on hand building pieces to paint and decorate using colored slips. We will start with small dishes to use as test tiles and graduate to larger coil and slab sculptures and vessels. Instructor will demonstrate traditional and non traditional techniques - paper stencils, slip transfers, sgraffito, Mishima, sprigging and layering colors for a painterly surface. Students will be encouraged to experiment and play while getting comfortable with the materials and techniques. Bring a sketch book and ideas for pattern and illustrations All levels
