Waxed Powder Painting
and the Alphabet of Everything

Week 2: August 9-15, 2026
Instructor:
Corey S. Pressman
Class Material Fee: $15

About the Workshop

This workshop offers an immersive introduction to Waxed Powder Painting, a luminous medium combining powdered pigments and beeswax on paper. Participants move through a creative arc that begins with sharpening perception and developing abstraction and leads into full waxed-powder expression.

We start by slowing down and strengthening our capacity to see, attending to color, texture, rhythm, and the patterns of the natural world. Early sessions include gentle exercises from my Alphabet of Everything approach, a method of deep noticing that opens new pathways for abstraction while keeping the focus on Waxed Powder Painting.

As the workshop unfolds, we enter the heart of the medium: creating stencils, exploring gesture and chance, and discovering how powder, paper, and wax can offer surprising depth and resonance. We end with a collaborative pop-up exhibition that celebrates process, discovery, and our shared creative journey at Menucha.
