About the Workshop
Join an exploration of image-making beginning in stencil designs. Develop and create your own stencils applying dynamic positive and negative shape relationships. Discover unique motifs and expand your creative process. Work with layers and repeat patterns to build depth and complexity of color, design and meaning. Discover the potentials of shape and pattern.
Students may incorporate stenciling techniques in an art medium of their choice - painting, drawing, fabric, mixed media or collage - to start new artworks, start a series, finish old pieces, try different techniques or a combination of all four. Subject matter is open and could be landscape, abstract, still life, figurative.
Structured exercises each morning are followed by one-on-one creative and technical consultation and time for individual project development in the afternoon.
Open to all levels of experience.
