Plein Air Painting with Trish Harding
Plein Air Painting
Relies on Knowing What You See!
Instructor: Trish Harding
Week 1: August 1-7, 2021
Learn to draw “from the inside out for dynamic & expression!” With charcoal as your medium you will draw from nature and outdoors to help you understand your image, gesture and structure. THEN use those drawings to develop finished plein air pieces with the feeling of the “place” as your guide. Trish has designed tactile and visualization exercises to help you understand how plein air drawing & painting is much deeper and more conceptual than merely documenting what you see.
Trish’s unique easel to easel instruction is tailored to help each student achieve his/her personal goals, while recognizing personal voice and skill level. You will go away from this class with a completely new perspective on drawing and plein air painting and confidence in your drawing that you never imagined.
Complete beginners, intermediate, and advanced drawers will all benefit from this knowledge, and Trish’s teaching style which is contagiously encouraging and from the heart. She will alleviate any anxiety for any skill level by using what she calls markers & cues and one basic concept of length and direction. This makes drawing make sense!
