Week 1: Experimental Drawing Class Supply List
EXPERIMENTAL DRAWING WITH LINDA BERKLEY
Students will need to bring the following to class:
ASSORTED DRAWING MATERIALS
Bring your favorite drawing supplies, including the supplies with *asterisks.
DRY
- Assorted graphite pencils – different hardness (2H, *2B, *4 or 6B),
- Charcoal pencils
- Colored pencils
- *Vine/Willow – box of charcoal sticks
- *Compressed charcoal/conte/pastel – different hardness and/or color
- *White color pencil or white gel pen or white conte pencil or stick
- *Chamois
- *Erasers – kneaded & vinyl blue tape
LIQUID
- Ink – (choose one or more - India, Walnut, or colored inks) with soft round brushes
- Water-based paints (watercolor, gouache or acrylic) with brushes
- *Ink pens – assorted (choose 2 or more - gel, felt-tip, rollerball, ball-point, brush, paint pens such as ‘Posca’)
- Marker – different size tips
- OIL or WAX BASE
- *Choose at least one set of color drawing media
- Craypas
- Caran D’Arche crayons or pencils or sticks
- Crayons
- Colored pencil set
DRAWING TOOLS
- *Scissors or Xacto knife
- *paper glue (such as glue stick, acrylic gel medium or “Yes” paste)
- *Ink dip pen or bamboo pen or ink brush
- *Masking or drafting tape or cello tape
- *Spring clips or pins to hold paper to drawing board
- Ruler
- Refillable brush
DRAWING – PAPER
- *18” x 24” drawing or mixed media paper pad.
- *Portable Sketchbook(s) – your preference (recommend small field-size sketchbooks and 11” x 14” spiral bound or opens flat)
- Transparent paper - Tracing paper (or Mylar or Vellum) - optional
- Bristol - optional
- Brown paper - optional
- Watercolor paper - optional
