Diane Trapp been creating masks for 36 years. She developed her unique craft from being a theatrical Make up and Wig designer. She set out to discover what happens when instead of painting an image, you put a three dimensional image on the face. This dynamic, combining image with wearer, fascinates her enough to last all these years. She has created masks for many theatrical, opera, and dance companies, most recently “Usagi Yojimbo” Samurai Rabbit, a play based on the comic strip. She has been part of the City of New Orleans mask market for the last 23 years and is represented by Maskarade, a mask gallery in that city. Lassez les bon temps rouler!
