WEEK 1 AUG 3 - 9

A study in the subtractive process of sculpture. Students will work from sketches – drawings or maquettes, and refine their plans over time. Surface treatment will be discussed, and group critiques will provide multiple points of view. Students may be using hand and power tools, files and abrasives will be used in the finishing stages.

About Kevin:

Sculpting since childhood Kevin Braker has pieces in public and private collections in the Pacific Northwest. He has been included in the principle annual shows in the area. These include the Oregon Biennial, Salem Art Association and Corvallis Art Association. Symposiums include Pacific University Wood Sculpture Symposium and Oregon College of Arts and Crafts workshop on stone carving. He lives in Southeast Portland with his wife Lila.
